Hi all,

I have 4 ISDN line (BRI), each has own NT-1.
On each NT-1 I saw there are 2 S/T output and 1 U input.
I also has Polycom viewstation which has QuadBRI/512Kbps

My question:
1. If I use only 1 S/T port, did this mean I can only utilize up to 64Kbps only? Do I need to connect to those 2 S/T port to get 128Kbps per line?

2. How to tell Viewstation to get 512 Kbps bandwith, do I simply connect all the line and dial one site or do I need to dial on every line (4 times)?

TIA :)

Each NT-1 has two s/t ports in case you want to use two ISDN devices (eg, two phones). You connect one of the s/t ports of each NT-1 to one of the four ports on the Quad BRI IMUX of the Polycom. You enter into the Polycom configuration the phone numbers and SPID's of the 4 ISDN lines, making sure you have the order of the numbers matching the order they are plugged into the IMUX. If the BRI's are using NI-1 protocol, there will be two numbers and SPID's for each BRI. If they are using 5ESS PT-T-PT protocol, there will only be one number and no SPID's. In the configuration of the Polycom, you get to the screen where you select the different dialing speeds you want to use. Place check marks in the boxes up to 512K. When you select CALL, there will be a box on the dialing screen where you enter the number to dial (primary number of the far end) and a box to select the speed of the call.
