We have a Tandberg MPS 200 and we are tring to make it work with our kiv-19's. The problem is it only works on serial port 1 of the MPS. The other ports won't let the kiv go resynce full-op. When we put it in a loop back it will just go resynce, but not full op. Were sure our cables are good because we tested all of the cables on port one and that will go resynce full-op. In the MPS the only options for the serial ports that we can see is to set the timing to 1 of the serial ports. So if you set it to port 1, then all of the ports get their timing from that port. I think that all of their ports should get their own timing, and not draw their timing from another port. Another thing is I think that I should be able to FTP int the MPS 200 to view the entire configuration file, but it won't let me FTP into it, only telnet.

Any help would be greatly appreciated

You don't want to do that. In H.320 you want to synchronize everything to one clock. Otherwise you will get slips (slightly different clock frequencies cause drift resulting in a bits missing here and there). This is the way all devices in H.320 operate.

Another thing is I think that I should be able to FTP int the MPS 200 to view the entire configuration file, but it won't let me FTP into it, only telnet.

The MPS does not support FTP. There are two ways to get the config out of the box if you want it:

1. Telnet into the MPS, start a text capture, and enter 'xconfig'

2. Pull it through XML buy going to http://yourmpsIP/getxml

You might want to try changing your LOS Duration to 18 150 and your LOS Polarity to 1 that is what we do for KIV 7's and it works. I'm not sure if it is good for KIV 19's or not but worth a try. I beleive that the full op light is part of the DTR or RTS you might want to see if you can hard set those to high in the Xconfig mode. Sean can you shead some light on this??

I just upgraded my Tandberg MPS with the latest J3 software, I haven't been able to test it yet. Is anyone doing secure conferencing with the KIV-19 and The MPS with this new software version?
