View Full Version : Need help with new SVTC system

I have a new VTC system I'm setting up. Here are the components:

Polycom VXS7000e
Criticom DI-366 dial Isolator
KIV-19a
Adtran512 ISU
all hiding in a Criticom ISEC 320 unit

The system functions as advertised in non-secure mode. In secure mode, I get a connection for about 1/2 second (long enough to receive a few frames of far end video). Then the resync and full op lights start blinking at seemingly random rates and the VXS goes into a loopback.

The first bit of tech support I got was that there is a resync issue with the VXS series and that I should just cut the resync wire on red side connector. Well, I looked at my cable and there is no resync wire on that particular pin. I guess that means that no cutting required.

For the second bit of tech support, I was told to download the VXS hotfix (8.0.3 beta) meant for users of VXS8000s connecting with DISA. I tried that with no luck and Polycom L2 tech support then said that it wouldn't fix it anyway.

Has anybody else run into this problem? Any ideas on a fix? TIA for any suggestions.

Did this issue ever get resolved?

oct0gen,

I just caught this post today and am also interested in if you got it resolved. When in secure mode the ISEC is basically a passive device and should not interfere with your calls. This typically means the problems are in the crypto or possibly a cabling related issue. I sent you a PM with contact information.

Check the setting for the resync. We had the same problem when we first started using the KIV-19. We did not connect the resync pin either but when set to any setting other than contact, it would cause it to continuously resync.
