View Full Version : Radvision ECS firewall ports
Hi,
Does anyone know what are the ports on a firewall that must be open for an endpoint to successfully register with the Radvision ECS gatekeeper. I know that typically UDP1719 should be open. Is there any other port to be opened?
Internet--------FW1-------DMZ---------FW2---------LAN
in the above illustration (the best i can draw  ), the ecs is in the DMZ and the endpoint is in the LAN.
Boon.

The standard port for RAS is 1719 for all gatekeepers. This is all you need for registration. If you want to set up calls, that is a different story.

With 1719 opened for RAS, is it sufficient for the endpoints to establish calls among themselves using the e164 dial method? (assuming all other required media ports are opened and routing method is configured "Direct" without Q.931 and H.245 on the ecs).
Thanks.

In a generic sense, yes. If you are running call setup and media direct (between H.323 devices) then the only traffic going to the GK should be RAS.
I cannot speak on behalf of RADVision however.
