Hello, I have some question, I hope someone could help me. (sorry about my english, but is not my native language)
I´m a LAN administrator from a small university, recently they buy a Tandberg 880MXP, and they send to me to put it work, I unpack it and plug it, I explored some options from the menu, but I have some questions:
- is posible that I can put online some conference? (I have a tandberg, I have a conference, and some people wants to see the conference on theirs computers, )
- which things(hardware, software, ip) needs to know the people who wants to see the conference online?
- Do I need something else to put a conference online or I just need the tandberg?
I really appreciate your help.
thanks..

For others to join the conference via their computers they would need to be running software like the Polycom PVX or simular application that will allow them to dial into a H.323 IP number.

I found several packages that allow to dial H.323 for example Net meeting and vrvs.
vrvs ( Virtual Room Videoconferencing System) looks fine but I want to know your opinion, can you recomment this software?
thanks again.

I think there is a question is there secure conference head. There are three ways to do.
1.Dial from the software based endpoints.
2.Streaming from the Codec.
3.Monitor through web based Snap shot options.
If you want to have interactive session choose the 1st one or you just want to see the conf select the 2nd one.The thrid one is for continous capturing of camera's activity without dialing. But the video will come in frame by frame.

Hi, let me see if I understod,
the 1st option allows to have an interactive sesion, so I must used a software that allows H.323 dial?
the 2nd option just allows to see the conference but is not interactive, in that case, which software do I have to used?
and the third is just a monitor and we have that with the web interface that tandberg provides.
Another thing, when i turn on the tandberg it takes an ip for example 192.168.0.10, and also has a vcn address 192.168.2.100 for what purpose is used vcn address?

yes u r right. For the second option you can use Quick time player or Real time player to view streaming. The third option through web interface you can monitor the snap shots of camera. Even you can choose second or third camera to monitor.VNC is used for caputure computer screen and send to other end users.

Hi again, I proved the real player software to send a video to the end user in a not interactive conference, I put the tandberg ip address on the real player address field, but instead a stream it also send the administration menu from the tandberg like if I was using a browser, i do not want that end users have access to the administration panel, that means that I have something wrong, which ip do i have to provide to end users?, do i have to activated some especial flag´s in the tandberg?
I really apreciate your help
thanks

Do you want people just to watch your videoconfrence call (ONE WAY)?
You will need a streaming server if you want to broadcast to all with everyone just entering your video confernce IP access.
