Hello, I`m using a tandberg 880 mxp and I want to send the stream to users on a LAN, I see the tandberg 770/880 990 mxp manual and it shows the streaming option, but on the menu from the tandberg 880 mpx, I could not find it, it has just diagnostics, administation settings, text char, restart, audio demo, usuer guide option but not streaming, where do I can config the streaming option in a tandberg 880 mpx?

I really appreciated your help.
Thanks.

Streaming using the TANDBERG 880MXP (http://tandberg.net/collateral/documentation/User_Manuals/TANDBERG_990_880_770_MXP_User_Manual_(F4).pdf)

Page 53.

I don't have access to an 880MXP so I can't confirm whether the manual is right. :)

Hi,

Yes, the manual mention the option "streaming", but on the menu from tandberg 880 mxp I could not find it, I want to able to send the steaming in a multicast way?

something like this -- IP 224.2.65.1

is this posible with the 880mpx?

thanks

Hi again, thanks it found the streaming option as you said, but also I´m confused, which is the diference between "ip settings" and the "adress" in the "streaming settings" I guest that the first refers and ip for administrations purposes and the second is for send the streaming, is that guest right?

Another thing, which address do i have to give to users to see the "streaming" ? by example if we are in a LAN 192.168.X.X and the address for streaming is 224.2.65.1

thanks

From the manual
Address is defined as the IP address of the streaming client streaming server or multicast address
Giving an address in the range of 224.0.0.1 to 239.225.225.225 will broadcast the stream to ANY HOST that has joined that multicast group
If you put the address as 255.255.255.255 it will broadcast the stream to ANY HOST on the LAN

Hi Again, I just want to say

Thanks a lot for all the help that you provided!

Finally I understod how the tandberg works, I just had to setting up the "streaming" giving and address in the range of 224.0.0.1 to 239.225.225.225 and provide to the users the ip that tandberg takes from network setting(for example 192.168.1.100).

Also the users must have a player like Quick Time to see the streaming, and they have to browse the url: http://192.168.1.100/stream.sdp to see the streaming

They also need a password to access the streaming

Thanks

we just implemented streaming on our network with a mixed mode of units 880/3000 etc. the address you want to type in is one of 2 either the dns hostname or IP followed by showstream.ssi.
format as follows 192.168.XXX.XXX/showstream.ssi you can also set a password if you would like to restrict users accessing the stream as well, if your using TMS it is very simplified to use and implement.
