Interesting..

Just so happens Cingular turned up the HSPDA (High Speed Broadband wireless) this week in Atlanta. I was driving down the road this week with my little laptop with PVX, Polycom Communicator for audio and Global Media K2 camera connected (yes, I'm strange)...

I dialed up a friend of mine on a VSX and was able to have a good video call at 256kb with minimal packet loss. Kind of scary that now, we are able to do TRUE video conferencing without the huge expense of satellite antennas mounted on vehicles. While it's still a best effort delivery of data, it just goes to show that truly moble video conferencing is coming of age.

Any feedback on the latency? My past experience with high speed data from the cellular folks is the latencies are quite high.

It was certainly good enough to carry on a conversation (which you can't do with EVDO). I need to run it thru CallBack to get a complete analysis of the call stats.. That won't be til i get back from this trip (end of next week).
