Hey there,

I have a thought in mind.. Is it possible to have an Audio Conference on an MGC 50 using the normal PSTN phones and as well as the AVAYA VoIP Phones?
Because, this could save a lot of money if the users are in the companys network..
If this is possible, how can this set up be done?

Thanks in advance for any suggestions.

The answer is in theory yes. I would recommend talking with your Polycom or Avaya reseller about the partnership that exists between the two companies. I think it may be as simple as registering the Avaya Call Manager as a neighbor to your gatekeeper.

Hi,

Thanks for the suggestion,

the fact is that Avaya is the vendor who promotes polycom here in India. We have the equipments support and maintenance by Avaya alone.. So i dont think it should be a problem to speak to them.. Well anyways.. will try that out and let u know..

Thanks again... It was of great help..

Let me know if there are more suggestions.

Avaya R300 T1/E1/BRI(same platform as Lucent MAX 3000 T1/E1/BRI), comes with an Avaya R300 Interconnect, which is able to connect to 24 Avaya digital Phones, 2 FXO, if you installed 48-60 ports dsp board, you could also ternimate VOIP(H.323) to T1(24-48)/E1(30-60)/BRI(6 of(2B+D)).

It seems to be able to work like a voip agent of Avaya voip phone with Avaya Callmanager(Gatekeeper)

I tested Avaya R300, It works like Lucent MAX 3000 TAOS 9.1X in H.323 2.0. it can register itself to Radvision's gatekeeper.
