View Full Version : PRI setup not connecting

I'm b y no wat a guru at this, so if I miss sothing obvious....

We had a VS4000 PRI system integrated in a conference room that permenatly failed. I have placed a newer VSX 7000 PRI sytem in the room as a backup until the original is replaced. I have moved over the PRI line to the 7000 and duplicated all setting form the 4000 to the 7000. I have been able to connect to one of polycoms test sites (milpitas) 4 times with the new setup, and that's it. These 4 times were not in a row either. As of right now it will not connect fully to any site.

Currently I have noticed a few oddities:
1) incoming calls will not display a name or number of caller (displyed on previous system)
2) if I call another local system, I only get to the half yellow ball.
3) if a local system calls me, I get the 3/4 orange ball.
4) Incoming calls auto negotiate to 64k, but never fully connect
5) All outgoing and incoming calls end with "The far site has disconnected, Please wait. Call Cleared"
6) tested with 2 local numbers, 1 LD number, and a few different polycom test sites to get above results.

So what am I missing and why won't this connect?

If you had a touch panel integrated for controlling the FX then the software might need to be upgraded to control the VSX. The API commands may very well be different.

My feeling is something may be either wrong with your PRI circuit or your PRI network termination box. See where you PRI terminates(usually some type of CSU/DSU/multiplexor) in your offices. You may need to check the settings or do a simple reboot. If that does not work you need to check with your carrier. Let us know how that turns out.
