Well I personally have never dealt with it. Hopefully Gary or Paul can chime in on this one.

Well I plan to send out emails to major vendors this weekend requesting they consider allocating a few of their engineers to come to the forums once in awhile to answer questions about their products. Huawei has now been added to the list.

The Viewpoint 8620 looks pretty nice. But then I think all technology is beautiful. If anyone has any suggestions for vendors that I may want to contact please let me know today!

Thanks,

George

George,
There is a new mcu on the market. It is not very well known, but I am all for more competition in that arena.
The company name is Codian and they are at www.codian.com.
They have a great demo set up on IP and you can log into their mcu and control it and do actual multipoints. Please add them if you would not mind

Thanks for your comments ... looks like its one of those products unknown outside china. They have a good suite of endpoint products, MCU's, Data Conferencing and Management software. Just a bit hesitant to get involved with an unknown now I guess ...

I believe Huawei is the Chineese version of the Polycom.
When we were doing some video conferences with mainland China we had to do some interoperability testing with them and it was determined that the Chinese did not want to market Polycom label in their own country so created the Huawei brand which is essentially the same thing. This is based on some assumptions and not a firm knowledge that this is true and some of you may have more concete info.

This company carries a very Polycom-like product but at a lower price point. They do not have any affiliation to Polycom. I have yet to test their equipment, but will be doing so soon. I will post a review when this occurs.

I've seen Huawei product in Infocom Singapore last year. All i can say it looks like Polycom products, just that cheaper.
And Taiwan brands are real cheap and have equivalent or better features.

Where can I find full features set of this 8620 MCU?

Hi;
Just asking the question again. I have looked at their website but have not seen any of their equipment first hand.

Anybody used it? If so, would you please write a review?

I do not think their equipment is available in North America yet.
