Sorry for the wrong section, but i guess if i put my post here, it'll draw some attention instead of hiding in the Telemedicine section.

I've been thinking, Telemedicine industry is growing high tech nowadays, but i'm not too sure that any of the codecs nowadays can actually support stereoscopic video.

I've encounter some operation theaters which has stereoscopic endoscope to see 3D images inside a patient body, but is there any idea / equipment on sending live stereoscopic videos via VC codec?

All i can think of now is hooking the left and right video to 2 different codecs :)

You could do it by sending the 2 images through 2 channels of a h.239 call.

H.239? but what i need is both image have same refresh rate and preferable same signal input. I know a few robotic surgery equipment which uses VC but the stereoscopic video is only displayed locally .... depth of view is very important, since those doctor are cutting arteries and stuff like that.

I'm not too sure whether putting a Stereoscopic Mux in between the stereoscopic camera and the codec will help, cause when i've seen the muxed video encoded in mpeg2 is still displaying 3D video.
