Have any of you had this problem: the Autotrack and camera preset feature does not work, even after you have made the student mic presets?

What we have:

1) VSX7000e codec connected to a Sony PTZ camera
2) AMX NI-700 serial controller that interfaces between the codec and the Vortex units which are daisy chained.
3) Two Polycom Vortex EF2280 audio mixers
4) Ten student mics and one instructor mic, Shure MX392 models
5) Cambridge Soundworks sound system.

The autotrack was working when the Polycom tech came, but a few days later, it no longer works. No one has touched the unit since the tech was here.

Any ideas?

I think Autotrack is a function of the Polycom Powercam Plus. It needs the integrated mics in the camera to operate. It sounds like you have an AMX system that is providing a similar function, but operating off of the microphone logic and not the actual Polycom autotrack. You need to contact your technician who did the installation and verify. If it is operating off of the AMX, then there may be presets for each microphone location that have to be set for it to work properly. Perhaps these got changed or deleted?

Sounds like the macros for the Vortex have become hosed. Did you have the config file for the Vortex system? When you speak into one of the student mics and the system gates it then a Macro command should be sent to the codec to tell it to enable one of the 199 presets. Double check your power on preset for the Vortex.
