This position provides digital medial and video support for Digital Media Services at the School of Medicine. The candidate should be proficient at multiple encoding and streaming technologies including Mpeg, QuickTime, and Real. Expertise in OS X, Final Cut Pro, After Effects, and Cleaner is also preferred. A background in video production, lighting techniques, audio recording, and photography is preferred. Proficiency in multimedia delivery strategies (e.g. MPEG4 streaming or QuickTime scripting) is a plus as is knowledge of Macromedia/Adobe products, VR Worx or other virtual reality applications. Videoconferencing knowledge of both H.320 and H.323 protocols is desirable. Candidates should show experience and knowledge in at least several of the following areas: Computer-baed non-linear editing software (e.g. Final Cut Pro, Media 100, Avid, Fast, etc). Multiple computer platforms (e.g. Mac OS, Windows, Linux, etc.). Video and media file formats (e.g. MPG, QuickTime Movies, Real, Windows Media, etc.). Video and media compression software (e.g. Cleaner, Sorenson, MPEG-compression, H.263, DivX.etc). Demonostrated media delivery strategies (e.g. Web-based media streaming, fast download, DVD creation, etc.) Demonstrated use of media editing tools (e.g. Photoshop, Fireworks, Illustrator, etc.). Other information technology knowledge and experience as it applies to video and media production. (Please be specific as possible with the various IT experience you bring along with your production skills). The Digital Media Specialist will be part of a multmedia development team that creates web-based training materials and teaches workshops relating to digital media as well as consult with and provide technical support services to the School of Medicine faculty. The Digial Media Specialist will be involved in all facets of video production on a regular basis. The ideal candidate will be service-minded and self-motivated with the ability to work in a team environment or independently. Enthusiasm, technical competence, the ability to learn new skills quickly, attention to detail and strong communication skills are critical to success in the position. All qualified candidates should be prepared with a clip real outlining the various work and creativity possessed.
