We need to connect our Ericsson MD110 PABX and Polycom ViewStation 128 system. Our PABX have TLU76 PRI card and now we are using all 30 channels for voice calls. Is it possible to seperate 2 channels from the existing TLU 76 for video conference? If yes, please give me more details. How will be the video clarity over 128Kbps? Is it possible to connect 6 channels (B channels) of our PRI to Polycom ViewStation?

Hi.

Does the Viewstation 128 support PRI connection? I guess it only supports 1 BRI (128 kb/s). I think you can't connect to PRI. At least not directly.
I believe you'll need to use a board in your MD110, that features BRI ports.

But maybe there is a way (but I just don't know about it).

Good luck.

Cedi

128 kb/s connection can give you solid connection. We have clients, that are completely satysfied with 128 kb/s. They conduct job interviews, presentations of new medicine...

They are using H.264 though. Tandberg units and Polycom iPower. I think ViewStation supports H.264 too.

But, don't expect too much from 128 kb/s. Quality (video) is good as long as you have little movement. When having lots of movement, video isn't impressive.

Best regards,
Cedi

Hi cedi,

Thanks for your reply.

I think we have to install and configure ELU26 ISDN BRI extension card in our PABX for video conference.
