View Full Version : Audio Drops during session

I was wondering if anyone has run into this issue before. I have a Polycom VXS 7000, and during on of my VTC's the audio dropped. It worked great for about 30 - 45 minutes, then the audio dropped. Has anyone run into this before?

Going to need some more info.... H320/H323? What system was the far end?....

They are both VSX 7000. H323...Remote site is fine, my site on the other hand the audio just goes, the remote site hasn't touched a thing.

hi,

how about the bandwidth? sometimes, network congestion can affect the quality of audio and video quality. guarantee that the videocon has enough bandwidth to be used.

Yes, I've seen your symptoms but need more info:

-What SW load are the VSX codecs running?
-PTP or bridged call?
-Secure or non-secure?

This is the verion that we have now loaded - Release 8.5 - 08May2006 , it was also a PTP, and non-secure. Thanks for any help that you can give. So far the problem has not come up again, but now i just wonder what was happening, either user error or what....

It sounds like a network congestion issue to me. I would put up a test call and get your network folks to take a look at the network for congestion or a bandwidth drop-out. The tough part is, it may be difficult to duplicate.

If you have QoS configured and are marking TOS values in the packets, make sure both audio and video is marked with the correct TOS value. In the 7000 series it is possible to mark audio and video differently.
