Hi folks - very gratefull for your advice...
I'd like to offer a basic VC solution to my serviced office clients. This will supplement the webcams they may have on their desktops PC via AIM, SightSpeed, Yahoo etc..
So I'm thinking of a Polycom V500 with an external, fixed IP address. This would run via ADSL+ - which is giving us 13Mbps down and around 1.8Mbps up.
The spec of the V500 is a max of 512Mbps.
Q1: Will all this work OK via ADSL?
Q2: Am I right in thinking that most companies and VC bureaux will be able to connect to a Polycom V500 as standard?
Q3: Folks may be using the ADSL line to surf the web at the same time. So I'm going to enable and tweek the QoS on our Netgear Layer 3 switch and Speedtouch ADSL+ router. But I know this is a tricky area (difficult to control download QoS etc..). Will this help?
Q4: Any other advice?
Thanks - and Happy Holidays :)
