In TMS version 11 my phone books showed up in folders on my Codec's when I pushed out multiple phone books. I've since upgraded to TMS version 11.5 and now my phone books show up as one big directory with no folders.

Before I get into possible solutions/problems, have you got an answer to this since you asked?

11.6 worked great with tiered phonebook.
after upgrading Gatekeeper from 5.0 to 5.1 phonebook flattened.
Tandberg is "researching", I'll post when I get an answer.

Known Facts about Address Books:

Global Directory - ftp downloaded file, XML based, flat directory structure.

Corperate Directory - http downloaded as needed, XML parsed, tiered directory structure. "[phonebook name]"

Problem 1: The Global directory file: /user/glob.dir becomes corrupted, and prevents the corperate directory from loading.

Solution: manually delete glob.dir file

Problem 2: your IP and path for the Corperate directory becomes corrupt

Solution: This requires a manual re-entry of infromation in each affected end-point

Agree with your solution to problem number 1 but how is your IP and path for the corporate directory becoming corrupt? I agree with the solution but just curious how this information is becoming corrupt and what type of EPs are you referring to?

As far as tiered phonebook, I agree that TMS works great for this but how does the GK come into play? I can only assume your creating your phonebooks from the GK (?).

That was how it was termed to me. The address and directory show correctly, but aren't operating right for some unspoken reason.

My actual fix on problem MXP eps was:

delete glob.dir
upload blank glob.dir
manually push my configuration template again to fix the IPs.

That seemed like an unusual case though.....

I agree...very unusual. Look forward to your post concerning the GK.

The Gatekeeper upgrade was termed a coincidence, ironically it was functioning with a failed upgrade, that Tandberg didn't recognize.

when I would HTTP it would bring up a "realms" login and telnet would fail.

It recovered after a re-install of the same image file.

just a coincidence.....
