This is more a question than a review but I do not know where I should place this. Anyhow, we recently got 2 new polycom vtx1000 purchased at different times. All seems to work fine on our office phone network except the ringer. And sorry, I am not a phone expert so all I can say is that I have 2 big binders in front of me labeled "Lucent Technologies - Merlin Legend Communications System Release 5.0" (about 10 years old) if that helps any. In any case, the ringer seems to work very seldomly on one of the vtx1000 while the other works more often but not consistently. If I place a coupler between the phone cable, they seem to work better (don't ask me why?). But they are inconsistent and since they were purchased separately at different times, the likelyhood of both vtx1000's being bad is unlikely. Also, a direct outside line seems to work just fine. I am pretty sure it would be our phone network, but cannot say why since is is inconsistent. I am told that it is possible that the phone line voltage on our office phone network may be minimally enough to trigger the ringer or it may be something completely different. Bottom line, has anyone had a similar problem in setting up their polycom vtx1000 in their office and what solution did you come up with?

Hi, There are a few things to consider here thats if the problem is not solved already.
- You can change the phone cables (or use enhanced phone cables) and ensure they are connected to an analogue line on your internal voice network.
- browse to settings on the vtx1000 and change the Flash timing to a suitable one.

Also you may want to check your software, I use mine intergrated with a VSX 8000 and ran into some issues that updates corrected.
