Hi all,
I found your site today and am excited and hopeful that I'll find a lot of useful information on the forums. We've been using VTC on our internal network for about 2 years and I recently enabled our ability to connect externally. I'm still tweeking the security and other configurations for external calls but we're up and working so the Judges are all quite happy to start limiting the inmate transports to and from the courthouse. We are hoping to show a big cost savings by using VTC. Whenever an inmate is transported from a jail to our courthouse it requires 2 deputies. Imagine if 2 deputies had to spend an 8 hour day driving to pick up and return an inmate that only needed to appear for a 15 minute initial hearing. Of course, not only is it saving money in deputy time as well as transportation costs but we make the public in the courthouse much safer since potentially violent criminals won't be present.
