View Full Version : CCM to Tandberg MXP forwards only Line Display info not Number?

I have got Tandberg MXP's that have no problem making and receiving calls from VOIP telephone's and Tandberg for CCM's. We have no gatekeeper, so we simply register them with the CCM as H.323 Clients and assign them a phone number. Life is pretty good.

The problem is, when a user attempts to connect a call in either the missed calls, or received call windows. The call is placed and immediately bounces back saying that we are not registered with the gatekeeper. (There is no gatekeeper, only the CCM)

It seems like the CCM only forwards the Tandberg the Line display info like "JOE BLOW - ACCOUNTING" and not the underlying E.164 number. So when you attempt to call back, it is only sending the CCM the Line Display Info, and not the E.164.

The same happens the other way around. If I call a Cisco VOIP phone from an H.323 Tandberg, it only shows up as one line "JANE DOE", where all other calls get both "JANE DOE" and on a line below
"242-1414". And just like on the Tandberg, if I attempt to call the tandberg back by selecting that missed call record and pressing dial, nothing happens.

Is there a setting I need to check to ensure that the telephone number is sent along with the Line Display Info?

Your Tandberg system also need to be registered to CCM. Otherwise it won't be able to resolve remote H323 ID (say JANE DOE) into an ip address. And if you have registered your Tandberg to CCM, please check you have to disable direct mode in Gatekeeper settings.
