View Full Version : TMS upgrade from 11.5 to 11.8

I am looking to upgrade my TMS to the 11.8 software we are currently running 11.5. Has anyone done this, and are there any real advantages to do this?

Rather than listing them all, because there are a lot. You are better off reading the release notes. Whenever Tandberg release an update the release notes always detail the changes made, TMS release notes can be found here;

one thing to note, when i upgraded to 11.8, my LCD display on my TMS stopped working. the fix was to load the LCD files from 11.7. very small problem, but was irritating all the same.

Was this using the appliance version? Or did you have this installed on a server?

We have had a few issues with 11.8 as well. Various things like the application not responding and having various errors we never saw in 11.7.

It is to the point where we have set the server to re-boot once a week and this seems to have cleaned up all our issues.

I also know some other folks who have had issues with 11.8, and in extreme cases it has caused their server to re-boot when you are running around trying to make multiple changes/conferences/editing...etc.

Just keep your eyes on it once you do the upgrade.

v11.9.1 is out now. v11.9 wasn't 'officially' released due to some minor issues that were corrected in v11.9.1. Therefore, v11.9.1 is the official release and what partners/customers will find (and should be using when intially installing or upgrading TMS) when downloading from the Tandberg Web RK.
