Hi all! I'm trying to figure out how to set a default layout for 4 sites total. I want the layout to be set by default automatically, so that when our admin assit schedules the conference with TMS, the 4 sites connect, two splitting the main focus, the others off on top in smaller panes (including a self-view). When a user at a location speaks, they would then take the main focus in full, breaking the split. Here's what we have:

85MXP - Main site
95MXP - Branch Office
95MXP - Branch Office
1000MXP - Job Site
Tanberg Border Controller & Gatekeeper
Codian MCU 4205

I can't seem to get this to work for the life of me, there's like 3 place to set layouts, and I don't see any default layouts that I like. The Codian will let you adjust the layout of a CURRENT conference, but I don't see anywhere I can set a specific custom default. If the split with the two branch offices won't work that's fine, I can do a single main focus with smaller panes, but I couldn't even figure that out. Can someone help? Our installers left us with little to no training. Thanks!

Check out the TMS 11.8 Product Support Document (1.5) (ask your Tandberg REP for it) wich has a section about the Codian MCU.

2. Codian Extended Settings

The conference aliasing and defaults for Codian MCUs managed by TMS are controlled by the values
seen on the Extended Settings page for the MCU in TMS's System Navigator. These values are
populated by TANDBERG-supplied defaults when the system is first added to TMS. Once added to
TMS, the administrator should tune these values to their MCU's setup and scheduling preferences.

----
- Conference Layout * The default layout used for the conference. This is the layout new
sites will see, or sites that have not customized their own view. If set to `Disabled', the
default layout defined on the MCU itself will be used.

Wow - that was hidden well! Thanks! I'll try this!
(I take it that guide isn't on Tandberg's website? I can't find the section you are describing in the one I downloaded recently. I'll contact my rep on this.)

I guess the support for Codian products will improve with every new version of TMS that is released...

Ok, that worked very well. Now I'm having a problem where on the 3-1 Top layout with voice-switching, the screen gets slightly cut-off on the bottom (where the smaller panes are), cutting off the end-point name text (we have it set to always on for new employees). It's not the TV, as I turned it off/on, and resynched. I can say this - it didn't happen before I swapped out an 1000MXP with our vendor (UPDATE: Since I didn't have the end-point text turned on then it may have been doing it before, I just never noticed it). I haven't been able to connect to 2 non-1000MXPs yet, so I can't confirm. But could this be related to the 1000MXP, possibly a video/camera setting on it that makes it's pane too large when focused on? Or is this an issue with the codian MCU, and is there an adjustment I can make so it doesn't cut off part of the bottom of the screen?

Also - is there a way to turn off the Codian MCU's Far-End Camera Control, allowing me to use the default end-point FECC and not have any layout control to deal with? We're never going to use the MCU layout control via the remote, and it's a real pain using the zoom key to have to scroll through all the options. I just need to control the other site's cameras like I use to, without the MCU.

Any help is really appreciated!!
