I have a question in regards to areas that do not have ISDN lines available through their Telco and for our Network that does not run IP.
We are running a Viewstation FX system, I have heard about "Switch 56 or DMS Data connections...
Does anyone have any information in regards to these connections and if they will work with the Viewstation FX system.
I know it will probably be slower but it is our only solution at this point, any help is greatly appreciated.
Thank you!
Great forum BTW!

ok, so I have found information in regards to both, more on switch 56 then dms data.
Switch 56 is recommended to run 2 lines to get 112K so it can be fairly stable and faster...One question does anyone know if we can connect more then 2 to get even faster???
DMS data, not much information found other then it can be faster...but I`m not sure if it needs more infrastructure to be run? I`ve found information that it is usually run on IP...we are running ISDN lines in all of our other sites.
Thanks for any help
Miguel

You can run as many as 8 SW56 lines. Usually the lines and the DCE interfaces are quite expensive. I find the SW 56 network also more problematic than a ISDN network. At the cost of the interfaces and IMUX, long distance charges and the interfaces it make make it worthwhile to go to a IP network.

Cool, thanks for the information. Unfortunetly going to an IP network is not an option for us at this point. Great to know we can connect as many at 8 lines.
Thank you very much for your information

If you are using a Bridge you will have restrict your call and also most CODECs have to have their call speed smodified in the properties to make or receive the call.
