I recall reading or being told that this was a bad idea, but I can't seem to find the source of that information. I need some sort of documentation on it so I can back up a statement made to a customer.

Of course I could be mistaken, and if thats the case documentation saying it is supported would be lovely also.

Damn. I knew I saw this somewhere, didn't realize it was right out of the install guide. I thought it was a separate doc for some reason.

anyhow, Thank you.

We have been running TMS on a virtual server for about a year now. I know it's not recommended but we have not had any problems.

The problem with that is if you do have issues. Tandberg wont support you if they know that you are using a virtual server.

I think its safe to say you cannot expect TANDBERG to support your virtual server. If you experience issues as a result of the virtual server, then the recommendation will probably be to put it on a 'normal' server. What we find it people using virtual servers do not usually spec out the server with enough CPU and memory for all of the machines to run at once. They get a server that can handle TMS only, and then add other machines and cannot figure out why it doesn't work.

I've been running TMS on vmware since tms v10.x (a few years) and it's ok. However I see it's slower now on 11.9.1 so I increased the memoey config to 1 gb
