Hey guys,

I have an odd issue with a cisco IP phone and a polycom 8000 HDX.
Does anyone have any experience with cisco IP phones? I pretty much dont know how the phones route network through it.

Has anyone heard of hooking a VC unit though an IP phone? Anyone run into any issues?

I never would connect them together.. are you trying to bridge the two devices together for a conference??? If so the Polycom supports 1 audio call during a VTC call.

me either, honestly. I just think that my client is looking to save having cables in his office with his polycom system.

Is this system installed in a large room or small, if its a large have them think of investing in a Hybred system such as Clear-one or Lectrosonics.

What is your weird issue? You didn't really say...

The port loop out network jack on a Cisco phone has 10/100/1000 connectivity.

I do this in my office right now. Works fine. I don't know anything about your deployment, but a typical Call Manager install will put the phone on one VLAN (voice) and put the PC jack (where my VC unit is plugged into) on another VLAN (data). This means both your phone and your VC unit could potentially have different routing rules or possibly different firewall rules.

Hello everything,

thanks for all of your input/feedback. I resolved this issue. It was just a lack of understanding each of the systems.

As was mentioned, in CM i just simply redirected to the IP blade's IP address. voila. My client has a new audio/video bridge solution.

sorry for the lack of response. =)
