View Full Version : Tandberg MXP6000 onscreen icons
The remote unit I was connected to reported that they were getting a lightning bolt symbol onscreen. I could not find that referenced in any support materials.
What does it mean?

Hey Ron
I believe it is for network errors, are you using ISDN or I.P.?
I.P. - internal network
There were three sites connected but it only displayed at one site.

Just replicated the symptom (lightning bolt) on a TB 6K MXP by starting a H.323 call at max bandwidth (1984 kbps) to a Polycom VSX, had an Aethra X7 attempt to call into the MXP at 2560 kbps (only came in at 512 kbps), then added a TB 2500 @max (comes in @512kbps) and watched the bolt come then go away...

So for Tandberg it could also be a indictaor of down speeding?

Possible but not sure as I did not see that message pop up on the display of the MXP and the other codecs seemed to shrug thier shoulders & go with flow...
I can buy that as the reason for the appearance of the icon. But I can't find that icon described in any of the support documentation I have read.

I know with Polycom when the lightning bolt appears it for two reasons, either adjustment in bandwidth to accomidate for adding sites while the info refreshes or errors building up in the call.

Look in the MXP Administrators Guide, see pages 210 and 211
