I believe..it is possible to enable 4CIF (even better if I can enable 16CIF) on MGC50? Am running 7.5.1 currently, the flags in system.cfg has been enabled for 4CIF but I cant enable it on the meeting room.

Thanks in Advance..

4CIF can be enabled on the settings tab of a conference, but only if the Video Protocol is H263. After that, of course the endpoints calling in would need to be able to do 4CIF.

The MGC does not do 16CIF - for that, you'd need an RMX.

Hi,
Im unable to get the option in the Settings tab. I only get CIF and QCIF as the options..but again..the option is enabled in the System.cfg file.

You sure about that?

According to the capabilities declared by the RMX in version 2.0, the maxFS (frame size) is 1620 macroblocks which is only slightly higher than 4CIF.

4CIF = 704 x 576 = 405,504 pixels / 256 (pixels/macroblock) = 1584 macroblocks.

I don't think it can decode 16CIF (1408x1152), the RMX cannot even decode 720p HD (1280x720).

Not sure where you got that information from.

For MGC to get 4CIF,
you must set the conference to use "video protocol" to H.263 and "Quality" to Sharpness.
It is only available in CP 1x2, 2x2,3x3 those symmetric layout.
There is a threshold parameter in system config file that set 4CIF is available in which line speed.
