View Full Version : SPID acquisition problem!
I've got an older VSFX512 I'm trying to setup. I've got 3 ISDN lines, when i run the auto detect feature under the admin options/video settings, the feature fails to detect the SPID's. I called out tele communication company they gave me a number, 4593, applied to all lines. I was told the SPID was binary, is this true? and is there any other way of detecting my SPID's?

Gotta ask you the basics:
Q: Are you using NT 1 boxes or a terminal adapter between your ISDN lines coming out of the wall to your codec?
Q: If using an NT 1 box, do the LEDs light up?
Q: What kind of switch is the telecom company using?
q: What happens when you use the provided numbers?

...the feature fails to detect the SPID's...
Auto SPID detection must be supported by the ISDN switch to work. It is not a guaranteed feature, but more of a good first try. The only real way to know what your SPIDS are is to get them from the guy that setup your account on the switch -- in otherwords, only the telco can give them to you if this feature doesn't work.

SPIDS tend to be 7 or 10 numbers and usually (but do not have to) contain the ISDN number.
