Hello,

I need help with one of our new systems if someone has any input or comments it would be greatly appreciated.

OK, we have a Polycom HDX 8000 setup. BRI ISDN with 3 lines.

ISDN installers say they did the job right and the lines are working, Tech guy went and setup the cart, and the ISDN lines won`t work.

He only got a quarter of a blue ball when trying to dial. I tried calling him from my system and I get a busy signal.

Anyone know from experience if this is typically an ISDN line problem or a system issue. I want to be able to go back to whichever of the two to tell them to fix it but i`m not sure which.

This is a remote location so I can go there myself.

Thanks for any help.

Miguel

Hey
Sounds like either your ISDN lines are not configured correctly in your 8000, or could be your NT1 box.Check your number and spids, double check your settings, also try connecting 1 IDSN line at a time to see if you can make a 128K call on any of them.

Does the codec notify you with an alert (bottom of screen) that it has an ISDN issue? It may not be an ISDN 'typical' issue cause I continue to see all kinds of crazy symptoms every week. It would be great if you had access to an Sunset ISDN test set (Sunrise Telecom) which you could use to check your SPIDs, DNs , NT as well as ST interfaces...

Verify the SPIDs

You might try restricting your call to 56K (336K instead of 384K for 6-ch) to see if 64K is not allowed but 56K is. Also, could be the lines are set to allow voice but not data.
