Tandberg - Polycom

Hi

I got presented with a case where two locations are having trouble communicating between Tandberg and Polycom(Lifesize) system. Location "A" have bout Tandberg and Polycom and location "B" have only Tandberg system. When Tandberg is calling Tandberg the picture and sound works fine but when Tandberg is calling Polycom, Polycom is not able to hear any sound. The picture works fine and the Tandberg is receiving bout picture and sound.

I have gotten a confirmation from the network administrator that the firewalls in bout ends have been opened for traffic according to the requirements documented in the Tandberg H323 document(Static H323 ports).
The Tandberg system is a Edge, F6.3 software. But on the Polycom I do not at this point have any information about type and software.

Do the Polycom use a different set off ports than the Tandberg. Especially when it receive data?

Yes. The H.323 standard only specifies a few ports. The rest are random and unpredictable. However, some manufacturers have done clever things in their software to narrow the range down, but surprise we have all chosen different ranges.

Try the Polycom website's knowledgebase and you should be able to find the ports. If not, let me know and I will track them down for you.
