Guys we've been running some in-house p2p HD conferences on Tandberg 1700 endpoints, but occasionally we get a pulse on the image (both ends)

Any ideas?

This may be a fast update (picture refresh) which is sometimes caused by packet loss. Can you check to see if you are getting packet loss?

Hi Sean, thanks for responding.

No there isn't any packet loss, however it seems that the frequency of the pulsing increases, the higher the bandwidth used. e.g. a 384 call may show pulsing every 30 seconds wheras a 512 call might pulse every 20 seconds.

Is the "fast update" something that can be adjusted or disabled?

Can you clarify what is pulsing?

Sound, Video, frame stutter?

Is it in time with the disco music? (Sorry, just had to add )

Suspect that the codecs are loosing information and having to call for new key frames, if pulsing means that the picture goes blurry then sharp then blurry then sharp. If it means bright then dim then bright then dim it could be power related, the two systems being in the same physical location makes this a possibility. Do you have the same issues when conferencing with systems at a different physical location?
