View Full Version : TB 6000 MXP with three monitors?
Is their a device that would allow the TB to support the monitors? The third monitor would be to display content only.

I don't see any problem. AFAIK, you can connect up to 4 monitors to the 6000 MXP.

...2 of the monitors would show duplicate images. The codec does not have an operation mode for more than two monitors. Here we get around it by displaying the near and far end images on one monitor, and the presentation on the other.
There are other ways of doing things, but if you need to run everything over the CODEC then you wil have to live within the two displays.

You could always add a video switch.

You could, but the codec will still only output two images. The third image would have to come from another device, most likely a PC. If the connection is via IP then that isn't a big deal, but if it is to an isolated location with narrow band or no IP connectivity then you still have to figure out where to get the third image.

If you use the virtual monitor feature in the API you can get up to 4 monitors each with different images (basically any input that comes into the product).

So I could configure far end video out of DVI 1 near end out of S-Video and PC from DVI 2? When I multipoint call was placed could the AMX send and API command to display call 1 on DVI and call 2 on S-vid?
In case your wondering why. They want to do a cheap Telepresense. Champaign dreams and a beer budget.

Yes, have a look at the Virtual Monitor API guide:

I didn't think about the virtual monitor, my experience attempting to use it was painful and ultimately unsuccessful. Of course I haven't tried it recently, perhaps I should revisit it.
In a separate matter, have a look in the CODEC forum and see if you have any advice in the Tandberg 880MXP - WiFi vs Wired (http://www.vtctalk.com/showthread.php?t=28527) thread.

Also, there is a tool that lets you graphically play with the feature that will produce sample code. If you need it drop me an email.
