View Full Version : Tandberg MXP network-bandwidth option missing

I bought a used MXP 6000 Codec on eBay. This however have no software option or bandwith options installed. :surprised The bandwidth option must be there to be able to make calls. Tandberg in Norway (my resident country) says this is a trashed unit, and I must send it back to USA for refurbishing. Arrogant! :angry:

What can I do? Trash it?

What kind of used equipment should I buy? Are all the other brands (Sony, Polycom, etc) just as "secured" in that matter that a single missing keycode makes the unit useless?

First I would like to say that the term "buyer beware" certainly applies here. Have you tried contacting the person that sold this to you? It isn't TANDBERG's responsibility to fix a used product you bought.

That being said, if you send me the serial number I will see what it shipped with originally (if possible) and send you a key.

Sean, could they just buy a year's core services and then get keys for original bandwidth and options??

Also Ovelaur, you would be able to get software upgrades then. Without core services.....your sort of stuck.

I feel your pain on this issue of the units being reset to factory default settings which completely wipes out all the keys in the unit. I have contacted Tandberg also to try to get at least the beginning keys and been told I would have to buy a warranty package to get the system back on line. I don't believe it is asking too much for Tandberg to give a new owner this information to make sure the unit is even functional.
