All,
I have connected a 65inch Plasma and 50inch Plasma to an Edge 95 with the view to use dual video on each screen. The trouble is the resolution on the second screen is too poor for data, and is just acceptable for video.
Without upgrading to a 3000 Codec is there anything I can do to improve the picture on the second screen?

No - second display is just a video output - have to switch to 3000 or live with it...

Changing to a 3000 codec won't make a difference, it has the same outputs as the Edge. You need a 6000mxp codec if you want dual DVI outputs.

Van den Galme is right about the 3000 codec. Check to see if under general settings you have the VGA out quality set to XGA.

you might try taking the s-video output into a scaler and then into your second monitor. Otherwise you are going to have to go with the 6000 as it is the only one that has dual hires outputs.

scaler would be cheapest way.

I don't see how a scaler would help. You still have the low resolution from s-video/composite output?
Letting the monitor scale the image up or doing it before the monitor doesn't make much difference.

If you take an Extron Compsite or S-video to XVGA scaler you will have better quality......
