By "various and sundry" means (ok, somebody gave a couple to me), I have gotten my hands on a couple of iPower 680s. They have issues (bad cameras, etc.), but the "PC" part of them works great--except for the fact that there is no audio i/o support if the Collaboration s/w isn't running.

Has anybody every messed with these to see if they could get a/v support through the RCA I/Os on the Polycom boards--or even audio support through the more standard headphone and mic jacks on the side? I don't ever intend to use them as VC systems. I want to use them as PCs for my kids, etc. With the little footprints, they're perfect--but I need audio support.

Surely, there's somebody out there who stays late at work just to see if they can do this sort of thing!

Help me out here.

Do not need to use RCA video output, there is a VGA output just connect to local monitor.. if you are trying to use it to a TV or other type of monitor... the RCA'S are for VCR IN/OUT and will not give you your desktop image. You will need to still use the RCA audio main outputs for audio, they are line level so should plug into desk top speakers. Also one thing to remeber the 680 does not have much free space on the hard drive.
