Can some one help me pull the logs off a VSX 8000? I had it reboot on me in a meeting today and I'd like to see what the logs say. I can telnet in to the unit but I don't know where to go from there.

After a litle digging I'm thinking the box is over heating. I had the call up in a multipoint with 4 sites for about an hour then dropped them and started the next meeting again with 4 sites and content. About 10 minutes in to the second meeting with a VSX 8000 2 VSX 7000e s and a Tandberg 990 MXP the 8000 rebooted. Reconnected and the samething about half hour later. Reconnected again and then 10 minutes after that it rebooted and would then reboot everytime we'd set up the call again till we just gave up. The constant rebooting at the end is what makes me think it's heat related. i'm sure the software version isn't helping either.

I know the unit reports the system temp in a telnet session but is there a command that I can use to watch the temp while in a call?

Thanks

I found them in the GUI (webpage) but how do I read them?

Why do you believe the unit is over heating? If it is in a rack with other equipment the proper venting should be used. Also you might want to make sure that your software is up to date ( 8.7.1). Also do you have the same problem with the system in PTP calls with these same sites? If some there maybe an issue with you Multi point.

Hi, I also don’t think it is heating, need more info,

1. Are you using ISDN or IP?
2. Was there a Tandberg in the previous call that worked?
3. Is this the first time it started doing it?
