Hello. We recently had two Tandberg 6000 systems installed using Sony BRC-H700 cameras (1080i). The integrator cabled these cameras to our new 6000 systems via svideo. We have been told that these cameras cannot connect to the Tandberg TVS because of the high resolution of the cameras as the TVS only supports 720p.
The consultant spec'd these cameras because of their quality and the greater optical zoom they have over the Tandberg cameras.
Has anyone ever had these Sony cameras and did they work with the Tandberg 6000 and/or 3000 systems?
These cameras are cabled from the room back to the equipment racks via fiber. Can someone recommend some other HD camera that will work in this situation?
Thank you

We have several and they work great. I'm not sure what you application is, we have ours installed in conference rooms that seat up to 35 and they are good in that application.

I would go back to the consultant that specified the Sony cameras and ask him or her what the benefit of having a camera that is higher resolution than the input of the display device.

I'm sure that someone makes a device to downscale from 1080 to 720. I would look at Extron or Black Box first, I've had fewer problems with them than anyone else.

Wes

This is a large conference room application. When you say that "we have several and they work great." Are you speaking of the Tandberg 6000 unit working in conjunction with the Sony BRC-H700 cameras?
What make and model of cameras are you using with the TVS?
