BAE Systems is looking for a VTC System Designer-Programmer to support our System Development & Integration Operation in Southern Maryland.
This person will evaluate functionality requirements for video-teleconferencing systems; create specification for audiovisual, conferencing, switching, control systems and other computing systems; design logical interfaces from user requirements; design interface logic trees and convert into programming language modules; encode, test, debug and install system operating programs and procedures; write and validate test procedures for evaluation of new systems and software designs; evaluate new technology products for possible use in cutting edge systems; evaluate effectiveness of current VTC user interface programs and designs technical requirements for new systems or existing systems to improve system performance and human-machine interface; supervise/perform installation and setup of audiovisual systems; design and validate user documentation of system functionality; perform Crestron & AMX programming in high-level programming languages, like C, C++, or Java; evaluate system design feasibility and ease of integration and maintainability and recommends future design changes; interface with customers on design requirements and resolves problems with existing systems, incorporates lessons-learned into future systems; assist and train user personnel in the operation of application programs; coordinate and participate in development of user documentation.
This position is located in scenic and historic Southern Maryland in the St. Marys County Technology Corridor adjacent to the Patuxent River Naval Air Station. Relocation assistance is available for qualified candidate. Applicants must be currently residing in or willing to relocate to St. Mary's County, Maryland or surrounding areas.
Must have the following:
6-10 years of Crestron or AMX video teleconferencing system programming experience, or solid understanding and use of other high-level programming languages, like C, C++, or Java
Two years of audiovisual design and engineering
Good verbal and written communication skills
DoD Security Clearance
Preferences:
Crestron or AMX Certification
