Any comparison you find will have biases, even the ones done by the 'impartial industry analysts'. My best suggestion is to collect the comparisons from all the vendors and analysts and cross reference them...the truth is typically is found if you read between the lines.

What is most important is for you to first realize what you want in a product and to know that you need to figure out how you plan to use it. Once you know this, compare the products in a way that fits your needs. Most comparison reports are written as feature comparisons and have little use when it comes to how you plan to use the products.

My organisation is going through the change to HD (currently have around 100 Polycom SD VSX units) and we decided to bite the bullet and do our own head-to-head comparison between the Polycom and Tandberg offerings. That way we avoid the vendors hype and will hopefully get the best solution for our specific needs. I realise that not everyone can spend the time or money to do this but we decided that it was the best way for us to be sure.
