Has anyone had problems with the camera going in and out of focus on a Tandberg 6000 MXP running F7?

Not with F7, but there was a brief spell when I had to send several HD cams back to Tandberg early in the production. I never found out exactly what was causing the problems, but I had the same problem you are describing. I'd call 866 Tandberg and get some of that good old manufacturers tech support. That's part of the reason we spend so much when we buy.

Yes, they had some issues with both slow focus and bad focus.
There is no fix for it other than an RMA.

We'd a similar issue Rory- http://www.vtctalk.com/showthread.php?t=27297&highlight=focus&page=2
I contacted our reseller for support and after some considerable time a "solution" came back from Tandberg - downgrade to F6.x! The "reasoning" was that the original update "didn't take" for some reason.
Doing this also allowed for downgrading the PrecisionHD camera firmware, and does appear to have resolved the issue. (Personally I think it's the camera firmware that's at fault here, but can't find a way to retain the F6.3 version of that, whilst upgrading the endpoint software to F7.0)
Strangely only two of our eight Edge units suffered this issue, so I find Tandberg's explanation highly unlikely.
So far I've been reluctant to re-try the upgrade, as they're both rather important sites and I don't want to have to go through all that hassle again.
I downgraded to 6.3 and that seems to help. It goes out of fucus sometimes but it regains focus a lot faster that F7

You'll probably find that the CameraSW version hasn't been downgraded back to what it was before the F7.0 update.
If you type:
xstatus camera 1
Into a telnet session you can check the SoftwareID for the camera.
If it is
SoftwareID: "S01692-3.0Final [ID:30031] 2008-02-26"
then it's the version that comes with F7.0, which is where I believe the problem lies.
It is possible to downgrade it again, but unfortunately I can't recall the command at the moment. Anyone else?
You are correct the camera software is still
SoftwareID: "S01692-3.0Final [ID:30031] 2008-02-26"

I've just been advised of the command I was thinking of, it is:
xcommand cameraforceupgrade camera: 1
What I'm going to try now is another upgrade to F7.0, but this time I'm going to disable the camera software upgrade using the command:
xConfiguration CameraSwUpgrade: Off
I'll report back if that provides a successful endpoint upgrade, without updating the camera firmware, thus keeping the focus working as it was under F6.3.
See page 144 of the Tandberg Reference Guide for System Integrators, which is available at http://tinyurl.com/655gga, for more info.

Well, unfortunately that wasn't successful. I think I'm going to have to log it as a fault with the camera and get an RMA.
I'm just going to get an RMA and replace the camera.
Thanks
