How to get Codian's CLI

Hi

I am using Codian VCR 2220 web interface. I was wondering if it's at all possible to get to the Command Line Interface using the web interface?

If not, how can I remotely get the CLI on Codian? I need to get to the CLI in order to copy the password file and put it on my Server 2003 server so I can do user mappings to have Codian store recordings externally.

You don't need to get the password file from the IPVCR - when I did mine I just made one based on the one I had on a Linux server - it should look something like this,

root:x:0:0:root:/root:/bin/bash

And the group file looks like,

root:x:0:

I just created a couple of text files with these contents and it worked fine :)

Thanks Phantom IV. I have actually created the text files but couldn't remember the fields, so instead of googling for the file layout I thought I'd be extra safe and rather post to the forum just in case Codian has something peculiar in any of these files.

Well, I'll be giving this a try now and see what is happening.

Phantom IV, thanks so much!!!! I added the passwd and group file entries as you posted and added the usernames for all the Codian users etc etc.

Long story short, all is working perfect!!!
