View Full Version : Calls got disconnected after 1 and a half hour.

Hi to all, I just have a question. When we do video conferencing ( endpoint is VSX8000, VS4000) after one and a half hour of the call being connected, it is getting disconnected or a message will show "maximum time in a call exceed, hang up?" I have set the maximum time in a call at 900 minutes for the systems and it is still the same. Does the network has something to do with it or I missed some config?

Try putting in no value for call duration ( In Polycom Menu) and see if that helps, also check your software version.

I have tried putting 0 (unlimited) as a value on the call duration and the same thing happened.

Contact your vendor's tech support.

It's probably a very common question and can be answered quickly-depending on how knowledgable your sevicer provider is in video. Great service providers are available 24x7, including weekends.

I'm not positive, but I'm guessing that it is not a Network issue. Usually if the network wants to shut you down, they are not so nice as to give you a heads up. :happy:

Aside from checking the Endpoint software and settings, make sure you check you management software (if you use any). I know that in TMS (Tandberg Management Suite) it has a max call length you can set also.

It almost has to be one of those two I think. Codec or management software.

It is an IP call, and the call is within the Private network only.

I had that problem before. What you have done should
have fixed it assuming you are doing point to point.

yup! i am doing a point to point call and the sad part, it still disconnects after one and a half hour, although it gives you an option whether to hang up or continue with the call,so we were able to continue beyond one an half hour. but the manager doesnt it that way.

There isn't a 'multipoint call duration' setting is there?
