Good people:
I have secured a video conference support contract a military installation. The military is notoriously known to use V.35 connections/connectors/networks. I have little or no experience with V.35. I would like to ramp up my skills in this area, how should I proceed. My customer has a slew of Tandberg endpoints & Infrastructure products. Any suggestion will be appreciated.

V.35 used by the military? hehe
I'm a VTC techician/video tech in the Army. Yep lots of V.35, well at least in NATO. :rambo:
The most helpful thing it to have the pinouts and the tools/parts to fix a cable on hand. Sometimes the pins will get bent, the conductor will get ripped out of the pin, and sometimes someone will make a funky cable.
Some of the most important pins you'll wanna check are the signaling ones. All the DTR, RTS stuff.
Bend a V35 pin, your joking surely?
What pin outs are you wanting, from what TE to what NT just say, dont fool around.

And as always, the answer is "it depends." We use a lot of serial connections to various Type one encryptors. Typically I am using RS530 to a KIV-7HSB. What you use will depend on the CODEC, MCU, or gateway device on one end, and the encryption device, and telephony interface on the other.
Good luck!
