Hello !

I am new into VTC and i have just installed a POLYCOM 7000 at our office in Kinshasa. It works perfect with IP over our VSATlink. The problem have is that the other station that we need to call is only using ISDN lines. It is not possible torent reliable ISDN lines here sowe have to use our satellit link. Does anyone here know any solution for this problem. We need to have somekind of bridge IP to ISDNon the internet.

Best regards

AT&T provides fee-based services to connect VTC machines anywhere and provides bridging between different call mediums.

This can range from self-set-up from a web page to fully produced connections with a moderator - - all separate charges.

If it's an infrequent event it might make sense to use the service. If it's more frequent, you could use this in the short-run until you identify what you need to bring that function in-house.

You need somebody who is providing a gateway service. You call a IP number of a ISDN-IP gateway and the gateway knows from a dialing rule wich ISDN number it has to call. Or - your ISDN partner is calling a ISDN number on the gateway and the call is transmitted into the IP network to your IP adress. Its easy.

Getting the call will be cheaper because if you initiate the call, the gateway provider will charge an outgoing isdn call to your partner. The oposite - isdn->gw->IP will be cheaper cause no ISDN fees will be charged.
