Hi,

Just looking for some advice/assistance with IP VC between 2 of our sites: London - Hong Kong

The connection works, audio quality is good between both sites however the video image on the HK side is experiencing a jitter(latency of packets), image refreshing frequently + motion blurred.
On the London side the image received is quite acceptable with the occassional refresh.
This connecting at 512K, Polycom 512 Viewstations on both(both running latest firmware), the connection to HK is a Critix LAN connection and my network guy tells me that QOS cannot be applied for this reason.
Anyone got any suggestions on how to improve the latency/image quality.

Thanks

Niall

The problem is Citrix.. With no QOS you are going to have video issues. I can't remember if the 512's have any QOS built in features like the newer models. You should check that. If you call Point to point I don't see any fixes over Citrix.

Thanks that what I thought really, there is QOS on the 512 I will have to try an alternative route.

IPeak Networks produces a technology that addresses this problem. Embedded software or optionally, external devices will allow you to recover data affected by loss without adding latency or jitter. Best of all, its cheap.

try to play with Ethernet port speeds.
As I remember, couple time we fix this problem with old Polycom's product by set up manually 10/Half.
Try to do that.
