Our company has a Polycom FX unit in our headquarters and we used to have a small office with a Polycom 512. We just closed the small office and the VP that was there is now working from home and wants to continue to video conference with corporate. I purchased the Polycom PVX desktop video conferencing software to use but this VP has decided that he wants to use his Fujitsu Lifebook u810 mini-notebook in his home office. This mini-notebook only has an 800 MHz processor and the Polycom PVX software will not run, it min is a 1.2GHz processor. Does anyone know of any desktop video conference software that would allow me to connect to my Polycom FX unit with this 800 MHz laptop.
Thanks

Given you have looked at the PVX and found that it suites your needs, you may find the same type of product with the ViaVideo II - it is the 'old' version of the PVX where the codec is built into the camera - so you do not need the best PCs to get it to run. I do not think it is a great product myself, but it may suite your needs and budget.

The product is EOL, but you may still be able to find one.

Excellent idea, I just picked one up on eBay. I bet that will work just fine. Thanks!

A word of advice; make sure the power and USB plugs to the device do not get disconnected while your PC is on. It tends to give a blue screen of death if disconnected while power is on...
