Hello All,

I am new to the VTCTalk forums. I handle market research for BrightCom. We specialize in integrated data and video conferencing, telepresence and telerobotic solutions. I hope to gain some knowlegde about your reactions to the latest trends in video conferencing and telepresence.

The first issue I would like to ask about is H.239 for data conferencing. We believe this standard has significant drawbacks including high bandwidth requirements. We have developed an alternative to H.239 that helps to address these issues. However, we are wondering what other challenges with H.239 you are experiencing such as ease of connection and data quality that people are experiencing.

All feedback is welcome. Thank you!

My one comment would be that 239 is a standard that all video conferencinig mfr's support.
How are you going to implement a non-standard solution and have everyone else follow?

Thanks for your response Shogun2.

You bring up a good point, one which we quickly encountered as more of our new customers wanted to interconnect different devices from different manufacturers. Our latest conferencing devices are all SIP capable and indirectly support H.239 data streams.

Have you had any issues with H.239 data sharing?
