NEW SITE DESIGN!

OK everyone,

As those of you who've been here from the beginning can obviously tell, the site has a new design and color scheme. The old one was just not good enough in my eyes to represent a truly professional forum, so I reworked it.

Comments are welcome. I'd also like your feedback on site loading speed and ease of use (navigation) as well if you would please.

Hey George, looking better each time I visit - looks like we got ourselves a Convoy...!!

On a side topic, it would be interesting (if it were viable) to have something in our profile that highlighted our respective roles in the VC community. e.g. Bridging Provider, Equipment reseller, VC administrator for your company, Manufacturer and so on. Just to get an idea of where people fit in...

You know what mazzarak, that's a good idea and actually pretty easily done (I checked in to it).

What do you think though, should I have a set of pre-defined job titles or just a blank field to let you type in a short title like the ones you listed above?

I reckon you make it freestyle, having given it a bit of thought there are probably tons of altenatives :) and you'd get people saying you haven't covered everyone. :unsure:

You will never be able to cover everyones description with preformatted titles.

This field will only be visible if someone checks out your profile. I decided not to include it in the post views to the left because I don't want it to get too cluttered and I have plans for what's already there. I'm going to remove the member number and at the bottom line and put a "Online" "Offline" status indicator there so you can immediately tell if the person is online viewing the forums.

Paul or Gary, I'm kinda busy working on a few things. Could you please announce this new feature in the News/Announcements forum if you get a chance?

I don't know how you got my email address, but I got an email from you referring me to the site. (I almost deleted it without reading). I hope the site takes off. This will be a great place to exchange technical ideas and interact with people in our field. Very nice design on the site BTW.

The site looks good, and could be a good tool for all us VTC techies to keep up to date and help each other troubleshoot....

Does this board use PhPBB2? It is very similar to it if it doesn't...
