Hi everyone
We are looking at buying a few Stethoscope's. We have tried a few types already and haven't had much luck with them. The heart noise and chest noise's were not clear enough.
Was wondering if anyone know of any makes they could recommend

Hi, I helped implement this type over 6 months ago and had no complaints from the users.

Edit I should add I haven't heard the quality myself, as these users were at remote sites and all I did was implement the access lists on their networks. But from what I've heard from the users, they work great.

We're also looking to get one. Graaf, did you ever settle on one that works? If so, what would you recommend?

We have not tested that one alleria i will take a look, Thanks
The one we are testing now is from cardionics "E-scope" it works with the ausculette II boxes, near and far but its mono and pricey once you add the boxes. The quality is ok at best. We asked for a demo 3 months ago and they sent us 1/2 of what we needed to use it. Took them 3 months to send us the rest of what we needed.

I know this is an older thread, but I thought I would give my 2 cents. We currently use ATI's Caretone Ultrasenders and receivers. We have been using them for over a decade now, and they are still what my cardiologists prefer.
We are mostly Tandberg here, and since the release of MXP systems, we have not been able to implement new clinics with these steths because they use the data port for communications, but the MXP's dataport does not communicate to a Classic or a vision's. If I put a caretone steth on just MXP systems, I have had no problem using them (only tested on ISDN).
We are currently looking at an IP solution from ATI that will allow us to keep our current infrastructure, and expand our services very easily.
I believe they call it the Caretone IP Management System (CIMS). Rather than relying on the RS232 port on the steth, an adapter can be attached to the steth that would give it a network jack. Then you can connect that steth to your network, and it can be managed by the CIMS server. If you want Steth A to talk to Steth B, then the user needs to web browse into the server, choose that connection, and then the 2 will talk. I'm really liking this idea because of the centralized managment ability.
Anyways, maybe this is too late to be helpful, or maybe someone reading this will be able to suggest another type of steth that has been found to be of excellent quality in a medical environment. I'd be happy to hear of any other suggestions.

Hello Graaf,
I have just joined and saw your message from 2009. Are you still looking for stethoscope that works well? We just tested an electronic stethoscope today that had very minimal noise. It seems to work very well. It also comes with a heart sound analyzer.
If you would like more info contact me.
Thanks,

We are currently using stethoscopes from AMD and the doctors love it!
