Default Signed Certificates: Part of H.323 or SIP Call?

Infosec just asked me the following question regarding our VCS Expressway, in particular about the signed certificate. I'm pretty sure the answer is no, that the certificate is used for auth via HTTPS connections such as the browser used for administering the unit, not as part of the actual call stack. But I'm not 100%. Anyone know?

"Do you know if parties connecting with H.323 or SIP authenticate the connection using SSL or some other protocol based on the certificate?"

Signed certificates are used for https and TLS communication. As noted on the help page for the server certificate.

So for example if your using SIP TLS the certificate is used.
